The Greedy Greek Deli/Mouzakis Catering in Sheffield have been invited in to many Primary Schools over the past 10 years to talk to children about life in Greece in both ancient and modern times…
We relate things to the children’s way of life past and present and can adapt things around what the children have learnt.
We also teach the children to count to 10 and a selection of Greek words, by the end of the session most children are very happy to say “thank you” to us in Greek!
The children seem to be very happy to tell us what they have learnt and enjoy talking about the Greek Gods in particular.
♦ We bring along adult costumes and a selection of Greek food for them to try, this consists of:
Greek pitta breads, bite size spinach and cheese pies, meat balls and falafels as well as pitted olives and the dips Tzatziki, Homous and olive pate.
♦ The children really enjoy trying the food and having a go at Greek dancing, we normally teach them to dance at the end.
♦ We have been invited back many times to the same schools and we enjoy meeting children from all back grounds and abilities.
♦ We make a small charge of £3 per child towards the cost of the food.
